Why Aren't Some People Vaccinated? Is it the $cience?

Some people have been vaccinated and some people haven’t. Some people lined up as soon as the vaccine was made available, and some people waited a bit. Some people are still waiting. Some people will never get vaccinated. Some people have their own reasons for not wanting to get vaccinated. Nothing to do with politics, mistrust or conspiracy theories. And they’re not always selfish.
Some people believe that if their creator didn’t provide a natural defense for any given virus, it might be a sign. And not necessarily a bad sign.
Some people, as harsh as it sounds, even believe that viruses aren’t always bad. Even if they take life. Some people believe in fate.
Some people believe that nature created us, and that nature should retain that power. That our immune systems are strong and resilient. If we make them. Some people believe that if their own immune systems aren’t strong enough to defend us against a life threatening virus - let nature run its course. If they die, they were supposed to die.
Some people aren’t as tied to this life as others. Some people attempt to live above the fear of the unknown.
Some people believe that nature strives for balance. That disease is a necessary piece of the puzzle. Some people even believe that we are the disease.
Some people are from the old school, and their parents purposefully exposed them as children to viruses - e.g., chicken pox. The logic behind it was the virus was much easier to bear as a child - and the older you were, the more harmful it became. Some people were actually on standby waiting to get the call from the parent of an infected child, so that they could scurry over to infect their child.
At the end of the day, this is what we know to be true. Some people are vaccinated. Some people aren’t. People who are unvaccinated can spread the virus. People who are vaccinated can spread the virus. A lot of unvaccinated people have died. Some vaccinated people have died too.
Most people believe in science. But some people also understand that capitalism infiltrates even the most sacred of institutions, including science. And we know that people do unimaginable things for money. It’s sewn into the moral, or immoral - depending on your framework - fabric of our society.
People aren't always conspiracy theorists or part of the growing political divide. Some people follow their own moral compasses, guided by their experiences. And they trust science. They just don’t trust capitalism - which envelopes all - making the truth that much harder to find for people, especially for some people.
